Mike Meints

Attorney

Background

Mike Meints joined Sophos Law as an attorney in the fall of 2012 with a goal of working with as many early stage technology companies in Washington as possible. The highlight of any day is getting a chance to hear more about the incredible new products and services that his clients create. Mike’s practice focuses on providing advice related to business transactions and negotiation, IP licensing, fundraising, business structure and formation, HR and employment matters, company and board governance, and regulatory compliance. Mike also advises his clients on the creation and protection of trademark rights, copyright rights, and trade secrets.

Before law school, Mike worked at Hamlin Robinson, a small private elementary and middle school in Seattle offering a specialized program specifically for children with dyslexia and related language difficulties. While at Hamlin Robinson, Mike taught math, technology, P.E., and health to grades 6-8.

Mike volunteers for and is a past board member of Washington Lawyers for the Arts, a local non-profit focused on providing artists access to legal services. As a volunteer, Mike works with local artists and attorneys to provide workshops on select legal topics relevant to artists.

A Pacific Northwest native, Mike could not think of a better place to spend a day or a decade. When he is not reading up on the latest gadget, Mike enjoys watching Husky football and cooking a great meal with his wife.
